"Jennifer Weylands' equine sculpture is superb! She captures the unique points of the horse's character, conformation, anatomy and especially the sense of movement in incredibly detailed bronze figures. Although much of her work protrays the look and spirit of the Arabian, she is also able to capture the essence of other breeds ranging from Saddlebreds and Fresians to Belgians and the American Quarter Horse. As a horseman, I appreciate the accuracy of her anatomy, action and breed characteristics. As an artist I simply love the grace, charm and expression of her sculpture. This is art I'd love to live with!"

Jennifer Weyland of Stillwater won three major awards at the 53 rd annunal Philcon Science Fiction/Fantasy Art Show for her piece, “And I Am the Shining Star.”
The convention was held in Philadelphia from Nov. 12 th through Nov. 14 th and attracted 3,000 visitors as well as professional artists from across the metropolitan area.
Weighing approximately 120 pounds, the 5-foot, 6-inch sculpture is Weyland’s interpretation of a female rider on a winged horse. The large, sweeping wings are especially innovative.
They are designed to be removed, and were constructed in room-temperature curing polyurethane made by the Synair Corp. Both the mold and casting material are made using this system.
Unlike the traditional latex moldmaking material, the polyurethane mold was applied in a single, thick layer and set up in two minutes.
Its lightness and durability contributed to the effectiveness of the piece, the remainder of which is made in plastiline.
